Librarian & Education Associate Manager

Job Summary: The Librarian & Education Associate Manager is responsible for managing all library functions, music preparation and the education efforts of the Lexington Philharmonic. Position requires strong knowledge of orchestral music, organization skills, professional demeanor, strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude, flexibility and evening/weekend hours. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about the role of live orchestral music in contemporary life and enjoys the challenge of managing multiple priorities.

Internships 

Artistic/ Production Internship, Fall 2017: The Artistic/Production Intern works with the artistic department through project-based learning to assist with productions, guest artist care, education events and complete daily administrative tasks as necessary. Primary projects the artistic/production intern can select to work on include: building an artistic policies handbook, being the artist liaison, and others as proposed by the Intern. Marketing Internship, Fall 2017: The Marketing Intern works with the marketing department through project-based learning to build marketing and social media campaigns, assist with press relations, and complete daily administrative tasks as necessary. Primary projects the marketing intern can select to work on include: building a brand identity handbook, creating an effective patron evaluation tool, and others as proposed by the Intern. Education Internship, Fall 2017: The Education Intern works with the education department through project based learning to build education programming, assist with education events, and complete daily administrative tasks as necessary. Primary projects the education intern may work on include: researching and building the Music Builds Education Guide, building and creating games and activities for education concerts, working with our instrument petting zoo, assist with planning in-school concerts and events, and others as proposed by the Intern.
