LEARNING + PARTNERSHIP programs
LexPhil believes that everyone should have the opportunity to be invited and supported in creating and experiencing art that is meaningful to their experiences, values, and perspectives. Our learning programs are participatory and center sustained relationship building. We believe as Lexington’s orchestra we can provide valuable musical experiences that go beyond one-off performances to activities and curriculum that are informed by current standards in education.
We are guided by the principle that all of us are both teachers and learners and when we gather together to make music and learn we build our collective knowledge. Through collaborative music making activities and events designed for people of all ages and types of musical abilities, LexPhil is creating space for learning, joy, and community building throughout Lexington and beyond.
We look forward to continuing to develop and offer programs that serve and engage central Kentucky in new and different ways and push us to expand the role of the orchestra in our community.
