EPIC highlights include the combined choral and orchestral forces for Carmina Burana, the cinematic writing of John Williams’ film scores, Tchaikovsky’s triumphant Symphony No. 4, and the world premiere of a newly arranged orchestral work, Two Black Churches, by LexPhil’s 2023-2024 Saykaly Garbulinska Composer-in-Residence, Shawn E. Okpebholo. 

This season features the VOICES of living composers, through multiple commissions and premieres, collaborations with local talent from The Lexington Singers and the University of Kentucky, acclaimed soloists Will Liverman (baritone) and Mary Elizabeth Bowden (trumpet), and a tribute to the iconic Aretha Franklin. The 2023-2024 season is an epic adventure through the power, potential, and joy that music holds.

PREMIUM CONCERTS: LexPhil holiday concerts A Cathedral Christmas at the Cathedral of Christ the King and Feel the Love! The Voices of Soul at the Lexington Opera House will be premium pricing ($35 - $85). LexPhil subscribers do NOT have to pay premium pricing (savings of $7 per ticket!) if you choose to include either or both of our holiday concerts in your subscription.
