Lexington Philharmonic Cancels Sunday Matinee; Saturday’s Heroes & Villains Concert to Proceed

Lexington, Kentucky — The Lexington Philharmonic has made the difficult decision to cancel the Sunday, October 25, 3:00 PM performance of Heroes & Villains: Symphonic Movie Music at the Singletary Center for the Arts. The performance scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 PM will proceed as scheduled.

After considering several factors, including a particularly busy weekend of campus and community events, ticket purchasing trends, and the costs associated with presenting two performances, LexPhil has decided to consolidate the concert weekend into a single performance on Saturday evening. This decision allows the organization to focus its resources on delivering an exceptional concert experience for our audience and musicians.

Patrons who purchased tickets for the cancelled Sunday matinee performance are encouraged to exchange their tickets for the Saturday evening performance, with complimentary seating upgrades offered subject to availability. Patrons may also exchange their tickets for a future Singletary Center concert during LexPhil’s 2026–2027 season, donate the value of their tickets, or request a full refund. Patrons can make ticket arrangements by calling (859) 233-4226, via email at tickets@lexphil.org, or in-person at the LexPhil Offices (161 N. Mill Street) Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM.

As we continue to celebrate our 65th anniversary season, we are excited to welcome everyone to the Singletary Center for the Arts for an exploration of cinema’s most iconic Heroes & Villains, featuring music from blockbuster favorites including The Avengers, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and many more. Dress in your best cinema-inspired attire, enter our costume contest, capture memories at the photo booth, and enjoy a frightfully fun time this Halloween season!
